Wilfried Zaha is set to join Galatasaray on a free transfer after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of his contract. The winger had offers from several other European clubs, but had decided to move to Turkey in the next chapter of his career. Galatasaray have confirmed that negotiations have started regarding the transfer, and he should be officially presented soon.

Palace offered him a huge contract to continue with them for the future. But, he wanted to try out something new, which lies outside of Europe’s top five leagues. Zaha has agreed a three-year contract with them, and will be completing medical tests for the transfer very soon.

Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad were also in the race to sign the winger, but he has been convinced by Galatasaray to sign for them instead. This brings a spell of eight seasons with the Eagles to an end. During this time, he established himself as one of their top players, scoring 68 goals and providing 43 assists in 305 Premier League games during his career.

He has earned 31 international caps for the Ivory Coast national team as well, scoring five goals for his country.

While big clubs like Chelsea and PSG were linked with the 30-year-old, his decision to join Galatasaray may come as a surprise. However, they will be playing in the Champions League in the coming season, which will give Wilfried Zaha the exposure that he has been looking for.
