Saudi Arabian club Al-Itihad have offered Wilfried Zaha a £9 million per year (after taxes) contract to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season. The Crystal Palace winger is out of a contract at the end of the season, and could leave.
However, the Premier League club is keen to get him to renew by offering him a £200,000 per week deal which would be in a similar region. The player has not made a final decision on his future as of yet, since he wants to finish the season with his team as strongly as possible.
Wilfried Zaha attracting interest from Saudi Arabia over big money move
Al-Itihad’s offer comes to around £230,000 per week after tax, but the appeal of playing in the biggest league in the world could top the offer.
There have been multiple occasions on which Wilfried Zaha has been linked with a transfer away from Palace. Chelsea have been one of the most strongly linked teams over the past few years. But, a transfer never materialised in spite of there being a lot of interest in signing him.
Now, foreign clubs like AC Milan are looking to sign him. And the opportunity to play in the Champions League could be too much to resist for him as well. The coming months will be vital in the player deciding where he will ply his trade next season.
