Apple will soon launch the new iPhone SE: Report

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently published a list of devices that Apple is slated to release in 2022 ranging from AirPods,iPads and iPhones, in his monthly newsletter. Gurman has disclosed that Apple could release the following products in the coming year.

In terms of smartphones, Gurman has stated that, in addition to the iPhone 14 series, the business may release a new iPhone SE in 2022 that will support 5G.

TrendForce, a Taiwanese research group, released a similar analysis earlier this month. The next-generation iPhone SE, also known as Apple’s SE 3 model, will be released in the first quarter of 2022, according to the report.

If the research firm’s assertion is correct, the corporation is anticipated to have a launch event in March to introduce the device. The smartphone’s launch date has not been confirmed by Gurnam, but the one shared by him appears to be accurate, as other tipsters have also suggested a similar date.

The current SE model is a second-generation smartphone. It was released by the corporation in April of last year. It’s powered by the A13 Bionic chip, which debuted in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. A 12MP f/1.8 wide camera is included with the gadget. The smartphone is water and dust resistant to IP67 standards, and it runs on the latest iOS 15 software.

According to media sources and the brokerage, Apple is planning to release the SE model with 5G capabilities in early 2022, with experts predicting that the model will allow Apple to compete in the mid-range smartphone market dominated by Samsung and Huawei.

According to the brokerage, the incoming smartphone has the potential to attract about 1.4 billion low-to mid-end Android phones and about 300 million older iPhone model customers.

“While Apple’s non-iPhone trade-in programme is admittedly not as appealing as the iPhone trade-in values, it could still result in an average starting price range of US$269 to US$399 for the 5G iPhone SE, which is still very competitive,” said analyst Samik Chatterjee, who has a five-star rating on Refinitiv Eikon for his estimate accuracy.

Although certain mobile carriers may offer trade-in deals for outdated phones, Apple’s trade-in programme is not available in New Zealand.

The SE model costs NZ$749, whilst the iPhone 13 costs $1429 and the 13 Pro model costs $1799, respectively.

The new SE model will have the same 4.7-inch screen as the current model and 3GB of RAM, according to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apple’s A14 or A15 chip will be installed inside the gadget.

In 2023, a new phone with 4GB of RAM and a larger screen would be released, according to Kuo.

Apple has been scrambling to keep up with the global processor scarcity and supply chain delays since introducing the iPhone 13 and new iPads in September.

In the meantime, Apple’s stock has continued to rise, bringing the company’s market capitalization closer to US$3 trillion.

Apple’s expected future ventures besides iPhone SE 5G:

Consumer demand for substantial upgrades, such as 5G models, is projected to remain robust and a priority for suppliers, according to JP Morgan, even as demand for most hardware items, such as smartphones, TVs, and PCs, declines.

The firm increased its expectations for fiscal 2022 iPhone SE unit sales to 30 million units and yearly iPhone shipments to 250 million units, up 10 million from the previous year.

Apple’s long-rumoured Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality headset is also expected to debut next year, though many predict it will arrive around the end of 2022. Till then hold your excitement and tell us what’s your views on it.
