## The Cancellation News

Spanish entertainment outlet [Fotogramas confirmed with Netflix](https://www.fotogramas.es/series-tv-noticias/a44471549/netflix-cancela-bienvenidos-eden-series-espanolas/) that *In Love All Over Again* wouldn’t return alongside two other Spanish productions. The show joined *Welcome to Eden* and *Sky High: The Series* in Netflix’s July 2023 cancellation wave.

## Why Did Netflix Cancel the Show?

While [Netflix hasn’t provided official reasons](https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/how-does-netflix-decide-whether-to-renew-or-cancel-a-show/), several factors likely contributed:

**Underwhelming Performance**: The series managed only one week in Netflix’s global top 10, collecting 16.16 million viewing hours between February 12-19, 2023. For international series with easier paths to the charts, this performance fell short of renewal standards.

**Cost vs. Return**: Netflix typically weighs production costs against viewership metrics and completion rates. The show couldn’t justify its budget despite promising trailer views exceeding 1 million on YouTube.

**Strategic Priorities**: The streaming giant focuses on content meeting specific platform goals, and *In Love All Over Again* didn’t align with those objectives.

## Creator Carlos Montero’s Netflix Future

Despite this setback, creator Carlos Montero remains a valued Netflix collaborator. His flagship series [*Elite* returns for season 7 in October 2023](https://technosports.co.in/upcoming-web-series-on-netflix-in-april-2023/), proving his continued partnership with the platform. He’s also developing *Respira*, a new drama featuring *Elite* star Manu Ríos alongside acclaimed actors Najwa Nimri and Blanca Suárez.

This cancellation follows a growing trend of Netflix evaluating content performance more strictly.
