Barcelona are set to be without their captain, Marc Andre ter Stegen for most of the season. The goalkeeper suffered a major knee injury in the club’s 5-1 win over Villarreal this past weekend.
The Catalonian side has confirmed that he has ruptured the patellar tendon in his right knee. He will undergo surgery for the injury and will likely be out for seven to eight months.

Ter Stegen’s injury is a huge blow to Barcelona since he is the club captain, and is the most experienced player in the squad as well. He has made 420 appearances for the Spanish giants, but will now miss action will next summer.
Inaki Pena will most likely replace the German between the posts as he is the designated number two. However, several other names have been rumoured as a potential replacements when the January transfer window comes around.
Former goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and former Real Madrid shotstopper Keylor Navas have both Ben rumoured. But, as things stand, Pena will have to step up to help the club continue their 100% record in the league so far.
