Karim Benzema recently added to his tally of goals against the Big Six of the Premier League by scoring the first goal of their 2-0 win over Chelsea. The Frenchman has now scored 20 goals against the Big Six of the Premier League, and could add more to his tally when the second leg of their UCL quarter final tie is played.
The former France international has never played in the English league, but maintains one of the best scoring records against the so-called best teams in the division.
Karim Benzema and Lionel Messi rank in most goals against the Big Six
Lionel Messi also features on the list of the most goals scored against the Big Six, even though he hasn’t played in the Premier League. The Argentine has 26 goals against the top opposition in England, the same as Eden Hazard, who was one of the best players in the country when he played for Chelsea.
The list is topped by Sergio Aguero, one of the most iconic strikers of his generation. The Argentine scored 47 goals against his Big Six rivals while playing for Manchester City. He is followed by Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy on 39, while Harry Kane of Tottenham comes third with 36 goals to his name.
Even though Cristiano Ronaldo played in England, the former Manchester United forward has only scored 28 goals against the top opposition in the country in 80 appearances.
