Where will we see Mbappe next season?

Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is on Real Madrid’s number one priority list currently. They are doing everything in their capability to welcome the star forward. The countdown is on. PSG has until September 1, to sell Mbappe or to make him stay with a new deal. PSG wouldn’t want to lose their star for free next year due to the Bosman ruling.

Real Madrid won’t force PSG

Real Madrid has shared a great relationship with PSG for years. They would never jeopardize this relationship by pursuing Mbappe against the French giant’s wishes. Yet things might start heating up as the window approaches its end.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi told L’Equipe earlier, “I will be clear, Mbappe is going to stay in Paris, we will never sell him and he will never leave on a free.” This doesn’t mean he will have any control over the player’s future if he were to leave next summer for free.

Mbappe doesn’t want to renew

Mbappe has reportedly informed coach Mauricio Pochettino of his intentions. He won’t be signing a new contract extension with PSG. He isn’t willing to force an exit this summer, but it is clear that he wants to leave the Parisien club.

The Time-factor

For Real Madrid, everything is moving ahead as planned. Time is in their favor. PSG and especially Al-Khelaifi will be least wishing to see a huge financial loss if PSG let the player leave for nothing. Real Madrid would be eager to negotiate with the forward and try to sign him on a free transfer, from January. This was the exact plan executed for the signing of David Alaba this year.

Building finances

Los Blancos’ has been busy this summer shedding salaries. Just in case Mbappe pops up in the market labeled with a 150 million euros price tag, they will be ready. Raphael Varane’s sale to Manchester United also fetched the Spanish giants approximately 50m euros.

Players like Dani Ceballos, Luka Jovic, and Martin Odegaard could be sold to build finances even further. With their center-back duo gone, the club saved around 20m euros net per season in salary. This will help in paying up for the French forward’s salary demands.

Haaland: The alternative plan

The transfer window is nearing its conclusion. If PSG does not make any move on selling Mbappe, Real Madrid has an alternative plan. Real Madrid will be trying to sign Erling Haaland. You heard that right. Haaland is as keen to play in Spain. Real Madrid has a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund but financially, this would also be an expensive deal.

If this deal was to go through, we could see Haaland at Santiago Bernabeu this summer. This will mean Mbappe would arrive next year for free. Just imagine that attack! Florentino Perez has clear visions to strengthen the squad forward line-up with the best in world football. We might see this happen sooner than later.
