Bayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee was close to agreeing on a loan move to Everton but eventually joined Parma. He is being tipped for a very successful career by scouts, fellow players, and whoever has had the chance to see him.

Everton wanted a simple loan deal for the player, but he refused the Toffees for a chance to get more playing time in Italy. That is according to Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon.

Parma has an interesting project in place at their club. They are battling relegation, while a lot of young talents are coming through. They plan for the future and want Zirkzee to play as the President’s ideas for the player require the Dutchman playing upfront.

The Serie A club has an option to buy the player for €15 million. Following the idea of having younger players at the club, Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo was also close to a deal with the club. They tried to sign the player many times on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. However, he decided to go to Nice with a buy option and then a sell-on clause in his contract.

Zirkzee is set to be an undisputed starter at his new club, and is now away from the pressures of delivering consistently. This environment could see him develop into one of the best young strikers in the next few years, should Parma make his loan deal permanent.
