What Are the Big UK Horse Racing Meetings to Look Forward to in 2022?

The UK has one of the strongest horse racing calendars anywhere in the world, and as part of that, there are some fantastic meetings for fans to enjoy. These bring together the biggest and best names from the industry, giving us the chance to see the best compete against each other.

There is of course daily racing in the UK, taking place almost every day of the year and you can check the horse racing results today to keep up to date with everything that has happened. This is key for those looking to follow the form and work out which horses could be winning next.

Even horses that head to the big meetings have to end up somewhere, and they often start at much smaller meetings before going onto bigger and better things. With fast racing results available, there is an easy and quick way for people to check out the stars of the future,  look back at which horses they have beaten and work out the value of that form.

If you do happen to spot some stars of the future that have great potential, here are some of the meetings where they could end up.

What Are the Big UK Horse Racing Meetings to Look Forward to in 2022?

March – Cheltenham Festival

The pinnacle of national hunt racing is of course the Cheltenham Festival. Four days where the best take each other on in some of the biggest races of the year. Going back to March 2021, one of the most memorable performances was the win of Appreciate It on the first day of the festival, will that horse be back for another race in 2022?

April – Grand National Meeting

The Grand National is the biggest singular race of the national hunt horse racing season. Won in 2021 by Minella Times, can he come back and win again, or will another contender emerge and win the biggest individual prize over jumps in the UK?

The race is the centerpiece but there is action across three days at Aintree, and another chance for horses who win at Cheltenham to shine before the end of the national hunt season.

June – Royal Ascot

The biggest flat week of the season, a meeting that puts together glamor off the track and the best horses on it. The biggest race during the week is the Ascot Gold Cup, which was won by Subjectivist last season, a race that is ran over two miles and four furlongs, and really puts stamina to test on the flat.

This meeting is about much more than just racing, but the action on the track is some of the best we see on the flat all summer.

August – York Ebor Meeting

Rounding off the meetings to look out for is the York Ebor meeting in August. Here we see horses that have made a big impression all summer going against each other, and this includes the three-year-olds that have been contending classics throughout the season.

The positioning of this meeting ensures the best we have seen in 2022 all come together for a great four-day meeting at the end of August.
