West Ham United are closing in on the transfers of Emerson Palmieri and Thilo Kehrer. Both players have been deemed surplus to requirements at their current clubs, and could find a renewed challenge at the London Stadium should a move go through.
Emerson spent the last season on loan at Lyon. With Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell preferred ahead of the Italian, Nice were in talks with Chelsea for a transfer. But the move did not go through, and things have been quiet surrounding his future since. But now, West Ham United could sign him in the coming days.

The left-back will be a valuable addition to David Moyes’ side as they try to challenge for Europe once again. Kehrer will also add a new dimension to the backline, especially given his versatility.
The German can play centre-back or either full-back position, which can help Moyes choose an alternative from time to time. With Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos and Presnel Kimpembe expected to be the main centre-backs, and Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes on the flanks, it will be difficult for Kehrer to have game time.
So, a move to the Premier League could be a good option for him to potentially get selected in the German national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
