Record Studios is mainly an online marketplace and makeup brand is now trending on social media with dominated discussions of no funding. The Punjab based acquaintances Dheeraj Bansal and Rahul Sachdev started  it in 2018, in 2021, it becomes an online marketplace with 60 cosmetics brands.

Sachdeva was already in this sector, working with a cosmetic brand, make Over  and gained  the necessary expertise in the industry. Bansal is working as the manufacturer  of bicycle  spare parts before joining Recode.

Recode Studio- The Journey

It was started in 2018, Recode Studio  unveiled its brand  with the products as nail paint, lipsticks, eyeliner, and Kajal  in a  make-up kit. The founders observes purchasing  has always been an issue for the buyers. After that they have shifted a pure cosmetic brand to an online marketplace while the company going through a huge losses.

In Shark Tank India, the founder shared  that they once decides  to sell-off their products that had expired in 8-10 months just for Rs. 1 flash sale.. Bansal added," This allowed us to get consumer feedback on the quality of our products  while also being  economically lucrative. Since everyone we sold to spread the word to their  friends  and family, we also increased our customer base."

The platform provides the products brand as  WOW Skin Science, Colorbar, Mirabela, and others. This company just imports products  from the countries like Germany, Thailand, and Taiwan. the company tied up with 300 offline stores with three franchise stores in Delhi, Faridabad, and Raipur.

Record Studio- Shark Tank Offers

In the second season of Shark Tank, the cosmetic brand  raise Rs.1 crore in exchange of 1% equity, both Bansal and Sachdeva  described  their customer acquisition strategy. The startup organises offline makeup classes for the  girls in five-0start properties for 3-4 hours, and per class they are taking Rs. 1,500

Rahul Sachdev added," This is no profit no loss move and  actually a cost to the company. The students then come to buy those products again and that's how we build our customer base,"

This is not fair that Recode didn't get any such funding  for their business as this is a direct competitor  of Sugar cosmetics established by Vineeta Singh. On social media the episode got huge response from the audiences
