Manchester United has signed 11-year-old Kai Rooney. Kai is the son of former Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney. Wayne Rooney has played 13 years at Old Trafford and left United in 2017 being the top scorer of the club with 253 goals in 559 games.
Kai Rooney started his career in Manchester City academy. He was highly rated in his City days. But he left when Wayne Rooney moved to MLS and joined the academy in the USA. It was first predicted that Kai will rejoin City when Wayne Rooney returned back to England and join Derby County.
But Manchester United recently posted a picture of Kai Rooney along with his father where the kid is signing the contract. He has also been given his father’s Number 10 jersey.
Wayne Rooney was so proud of his son. He posted a picture of him with his son with caption, “Proud day. Kai signing for Manchester United. Keep up the hard work son.”
Coleen Rooney also reacted and congratulated the kid. She said, “Special night…. congratulations Kai. I love you and I am so proud of you. Keep trying your best.”
Manchester United’s coaching staff Mike Phelan is delighted to see Kai in joining the Red Devils. He commented, “Not sure I can handle another. Keep grafting young one and listen to your Dad.”
Manchester United fans will surely keep an eye on young Rooney and hope he will help Manchester United to glory just like his father did quite effortlessly.
