## What Happens in Watson Season 2 Episode 17?

After a key player disappears, the team rushes to find them before it’s too late. The official CBS logline for Episode 17 reads: *“Unsolved Mysteries”* — airing Sunday, April 12 at 10:00–11:00 PM ET/PT. [The Snake](https://cartermatt.com/719902/watson-season-2-episode-17-spoilers-a-disappearance/)

The episode title alone hints at something bigger than a routine medical case. Given where Season 2 left off — with Watson hallucinating Holmes and getting into a car accident — the stakes couldn’t be higher.

## Where Things Stand After Episode 16?

In Episode 16, Watson and his team discovered that Shelly has a mental disorder, which drove her and her daughters to extreme, isolated living conditions. While Watson and Laila were returning from Shelly’s home, Watson hallucinated Holmes once again — leading directly to a car accident. That accident is setting up what could be one of the most emotionally intense final episodes of the season.

## The Sad Reality: *Watson* Has Been Cancelled?

In March 2026, CBS cancelled *Watson* after two seasons. [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_(TV_series)) As [Wikipedia notes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_(TV_series)), the show transplanted the beloved Sherlock Holmes lore into a medical procedural format, led by the always-watchable Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson — a former London-based physician now running the Holmes Clinic in Pittsburgh. Season 2 is the final season, consisting of 20 episodes, with the series finale *“The Cobalt Fissure”* airing on **May 3, 2026.** [Watson-CBS Wiki](https://watsoncbs.fandom.com/wiki/Season_2)

Loyal fans are now watching every episode knowing it’s the last ride — which makes “Unsolved Mysteries” all the more bittersweet.
