According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Washington Wizards’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks which was set to take place on Friday has been postponed due to the number of unavailable players on the Washington Wizards squad. It was supposed to the Wizards’ first game in 11 days since missing five games because of a COVID-19 outbreak in the team.

The announcement came after Bradley Beal spoke to the media on Wednesday, when the Wizards returned to practice on the tail end of a corona virus outbreak within the team, stating he was going to go to the NBPA and get the game moved due to health concerns.

January 11 was the Wizards’ last game against the Phoenix Suns which they won 128-107. Washington has had five games since then postponed because of a corona virus outbreak. During that period, six players tested positive for the disease for the first time over the last one week, though that news comes from insiders getting news from within sources within the NBA. Apparently, one team staff member has also tested positive.

The NBA will handle the games missed by Washington as a result of the outbreak as this was planned for in the protocols set prior to the beginning of the season. The first half of the NBA schedule was released in December, but the second half is yet to be released. The postponed games could be rescheduled when the league releases its calendar for the second half of this season.
