Digital Extremes recently shared new details about the upcoming Warframe update, Techrot Encore, during their latest live stream. Scheduled for release on March 19, this major update introduces Temple, the game’s 60th Warframe.
Players will unleash potent abilities, flooding the battlefield with heatwave projectiles while summoning Techrot Subwoofer minions to buff allies and debuff enemies, performing the Solo of the century to ignite flame jets, and teleporting around with Lizzie, the sentient Infested guitar that is an Exalted Weapon able to fire projectiles or become a flamethrower.

Warframe Techrot Encore Launches March 19 With New Warframe, Missions, and Mini-Game
The update also adds four new Protoframes. Flare (Temple) is a living work of art designed to exceed gender and biology. The two, battle-hardened veterans (and lovers) who are the adoptive parents of Warframe: 1999’s antagonist, Major Rusalka, known as Minerva (Saryn) and Velimir II (Frost). Kaya (Nova) is an engineering prodigy, self-taught, with a strange fascination with time travel. The game will feature two brand-new types of missions.
Stage Defense delivers a fresh take on the classic Defense mode, tasking players with defending Flare as she plays a memorial concert for band members who perished in the tyrannical clutches of the Scaldra regime. Temporal Archimedea, on the other hand, adds one of Warframe’s hardest missions to the game, sending players and Minerva and Velimir II through three back-to-back randomly picked missions.
This mode’s advantages can be acquired via Kaya’s Peely Pix system, where players will be able to unlock instance bonuses. Ollie’s Crash Course, an atomic racing mini-game inspired by James Conlin, will also be introduced to the Höllvania Mall Hub as part of Digital Extremes’ Make-A-Wish commitment to him.
Alongside the update, an Open Beta for the new Warframe mobile companion app is launching today, bringing Steam login support, improved navigation, and a redesigned settings page. Digital Extremes also provided updates on Soulframe, revealing new faction-based social hubs, a side-quest system, and a new caster weapon type that fires energy bolts while deceiving enemies into thinking the player is unarmed.
