# Vizag Comic Con’s Inaugural Event Attracts Over 12,000 Attendees

The inaugural Vizag Comic Con, presented by Maruti Suzuki and powered by Crunchyroll, concluded its two-day run on October 10-11 at the Kalam Convention Centre, AMTZ Campus. The event reported an attendance exceeding 12,000, drawing enthusiasts of comic books, anime, gaming, and cosplay to Visakhapatnam.

The debut edition provided a platform for attendees to engage with various facets of pop culture. Activities included access to an Artist Alley, interactions with creators, and panel discussions. The event also featured popular gaming streamer Munna Bhai Gaming.

## Vizag Comic Con: Overview

Attendees explored a range of content from India’s comic and creator community, engaging with writers, artists, and publishers. The Comic Con Creators’ Jam hosted discussions with creators such as Roshan from Lilorosh, Sameera Maruvada from Salt and Sambar, Ashwin Kalmane from Bullseye Press, and Bijoy Raveendran from Yali Dream Creations, focusing on creative journeys and the evolution of the Indian comics landscape. The Comic Con Community Spotlight also recognized local fandom groups, including The Coastal Realms Guild.

Interactive experiences were a key component of the event. The NODWIN Gaming Arena featured a VR Fun Zone, alongside X-Wall’s virtual basketball and archery, and Logitech’s Race For Real simulation zone. Sponsors Maruti Suzuki and Crunchyroll also offered interactive brand experiences and trivia challenges.

The convention floor saw a notable presence of cosplayers showcasing elaborate costumes and craftsmanship. The event also extended an invitation to children from a local NGO, offering them an opportunity to participate in the celebrations.

Entertainment on the main stage included performances by Telugu hip-hop artist Roll Rida, C-SHOR, The 9TEEN, and Fluteboxers. Stand-up comedy acts were delivered by Gokul Kumar, Kumar Varun, and Vivek Muralidharan. This diverse programming aimed to cater to a broad spectrum of attendees.
