Vivo’s Product Vice President, Huang Tao, has unveiled key information about the highly anticipated Vivo X200 Ultra through a detailed post on Weibo. After the remarkable success of the Vivo X200 Pro — now regarded as the best-selling Pro model in the X-series — Vivo is shifting its focus to the Ultra variant. Huang stressed that the X200 Ultra is a “pocket smart camera that can make calls,” focusing on an imaging-first philosophy. He also shared images that revealed the color options for the phone: red, silver, and black.

Internally code-named the “V-camera,” the Vivo X200 Ultra aims to take mobile photography to the limit. The phone now comes with an even larger, circular camera module that holds three Zeiss-branded prime lenses: a new 85mm APO telephoto lens, a 14mm ultra-wide lens with the biggest sensor in the class, and a 35mm classic humanistic lens that’s suitable for documentary-style photography. All three lenses include Zeiss T* coating and optical image stabilization (OIS).

There’s also a fourth camera sensor that hasn’t been revealed. For video recording, the X200 Ultra offers full-focus 4K at 60fps with 10-bit Log support and cinematic 4K at 120fps. There’s also a dedicated camera control button and a custom zoom flash system that’s designed to replicate DSLR-style portrait lighting. Besides the potent camera abilities, the phone will also come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a 2K Zeiss Master Colour screen with circular polarizer eye shielding.

Other highlights of the device include ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, which functions when fingers are wet, and a large battery that supports wireless flash charging. Vivo aims for the X200 Ultra to be more than a “concert camera,” positioning it as a top choice for capturing major events like sports and nature. The phone is scheduled to launch in China on April 21 alongside other new Vivo devices. Global availability is yet to be confirmed.
