Vitor Roque to Palmeiras: Barcelona Striker Nears €25M Transfer as Deal Reaches Final Stages

Vitor Roque’s transfer from Barcelona to Palmeiras is back on track, with the deal expected to be finalized before the Brazilian transfer window shuts on Friday. After a period of uncertainty due to the complexities involved, all parties have now reached an agreement, paving the way for the 19-year-old forward’s return to his home country.

The agreement will see Palmeiras pay €25 million for 80% of Roque’s economic rights, while Real Betis, who had the player on loan, will receive compensation for releasing him early.

Final Hurdles Cleared After Complicated Negotiations

Initially, the deal faced multiple obstacles due to Roque’s loan arrangement with Real Betis. The transfer negotiations involved three clubs, making the process unusually intricate. However, FIFA has reportedly reviewed the situation and classified it as a ‘technical transfer,’ ensuring the move can proceed without legal hindrances.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest update, stating that the deal is “almost done” and that all parties are now aligned on the terms.

Real Betis Receive Additional Compensation

Real Betis, who signed Roque on loan earlier this season, will be compensated for terminating the agreement ahead of schedule. To facilitate this, Barcelona has agreed to grant Betis an extra 30% of winger Ez Abde’s economic rights.

Betis initially acquired 50% of Abde’s rights for €7.5 million during the 2023 summer transfer window, with his total valuation set at €15 million. The additional 30% now being transferred to Betis is estimated to be worth around €4.5 million, depending on future market fluctuations.

In addition to the rights compensation, Palmeiras will cover part of Roque’s salary for the remainder of the season, further increasing Betis’ financial benefit from the deal, which is reportedly valued at over €6 million.

Barcelona and Palmeiras Finalizing Details

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona and Palmeiras have already outlined the primary terms of the transfer, with the Brazilian club securing 80% of Roque’s rights. Some final logistical details remain to be settled, but officials are optimistic about concluding the paperwork in time for the deadline.

The transfer fee is expected to be structured with fixed payments along with performance-based variables.

FIFA Green Light Overrides La Liga Concerns

Despite concerns from La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), who initially tried to block the transfer on legal grounds, FIFA has ruled in favor of the deal. With the governing body’s approval, Roque is now on the verge of sealing his move to Palmeiras.

As the transfer window in Brazil nears its closure, all indications suggest that Vitor Roque’s move will be completed imminently, marking a significant return to South American football for the highly-rated striker.
