*VisionQuest* premiered on Disney+ on October 14, and new art is stirring up an old friendship. A piece shown at New York Comic-Con suggests **Hulk** matters to Vision’s story, even if Bruce Banner can’t show up in person. Fair warning: this contains light spoilers for *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* and the *Avengers: Endgame Encore* post-credits scene.

## VisionQuest : Overview

| Detail | Info |
| --- | --- |
| **Series** | VisionQuest (final part of the WandaVision trilogy) |
| **Platform** | Disney+ |
| **Premiere** | October 14, 2026 |
| **Showrunner** | Terry Matalas |
| **Stars** | Paul Bettany, James Spader (Ultron), Ruaridh Mollica (Tommy), T’Nia Miller (Jocasta) |
| **Villain on his tail** | Paladin (Todd Stashwick) |

## The Art That Started It

Vance Kelly’s piece, *The Birth of Vision*, sat in a Comic-Con pop-up. It places Vision between two sides convinced they’re doing the right thing: Ultron on one, Hulk and Iron Man on the other. In *Age of Ultron*, Vision sided with the Avengers, including his makers, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.

## Why Does Hulk Matter?

The Direct’s read is that *VisionQuest* hasn’t forgotten the bond. Vision is wrestling with his origins and identity, and the art explores the moment he was “born.” Since Ultron is also returning, the show leans heavily on the question of who shaped him. Bruce was one of the people who did.

## Where Is Bruce Banner Right Now?

Here’s why he can’t just walk in:

- **Brand New Day:** Jean Grey forced Bruce to lose control, leading to a major fight with Spider-Man. He ended up in an ambulance headed for a heavily guarded facility.
- **Endgame Encore post-credits:** Bruce is recording a video log about self-experiments when Doctor Doom appears, wanting his help. Bruce unleashes Hulk, but Doom whisks him away.

With Paladin hunting him and Ultron plotting an escape, Vision is unlikely to lead a search party. A more plausible link is that he learns of Bruce’s disappearance and keeps it in his back pocket.

## What to Expect?

- **The Doomsday tease:** it’s hard to imagine *VisionQuest* ending without hinting at *Avengers: Doomsday*, though Paul Bettany isn’t confirmed for that film.
- **A possible reunion:** Marvel seems to be setting the stage for friends to fight together again down the line.
- **Caution:** The Direct is speculating from concept art, not confirmed plot.
