## Mel & Jack’s Baby — The Heart-Wrenching Reveal

This was the emotional core of the entire season. Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) — finally married after seasons of will-they-won’t-they drama — spent Season 7 pursuing adoption through their birth mother Marley. After deciding to proceed with the adoption, their joy was immediately shattered when scans revealed that Marley’s unborn baby had superoinferior ventricles, an ultra-rare congenital heart defect — meaning the baby’s heart couldn’t deliver blood successfully to the rest of his body.

The couple rushes to Los Angeles for emergency specialist care, where Mel reconnects with **Dr. Eli Kelly** — a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon she worked with in Nurses Without Borders years ago. Holding back tears, Mel declares: “This is our baby, and we’re going to love him whether he lives a hundred seconds or a hundred years.” Marley gives birth, the baby is immediately whisked away to the NICU, leaving Mel and Jack in an agonising waiting game [The TV Cave](https://www.thetvcave.com/post/watson-season-2-episode-12-recap) — one that won’t be resolved until Season 8.

## Brady’s Motorcycle Crash — Is He Dead?

Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) finally got his happy ending this season — reuniting with Brie (Zibby Allen) after she turned down Mike’s marriage proposal. Then the show took it all away. At the exact moment Mel and Jack’s baby is born, a newly happy Brady takes his motorcycle for a ride — and crashes into a broken-down lorry, leaving his fate completely unknown. [IMDb](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22475008/episodes/?season=2) Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed Brady’s fate will be revealed in Season 8.

## Charmaine Mystery — Finally Solved

The season-long mystery surrounding Charmaine’s disappearance reaches its conclusion. It’s revealed that her boss Grant shot Calvin and had been hiding Charmaine and the twins in his apartment all along. [Soapcentral](https://www.soapcentral.com/shows/watson-season-2-episode-13-release-date-news-time-streaming-details) Brie took on Charmaine’s legal representation — creating a wall between her and Mike — though Mike himself won’t be returning for Season 8.

## Doc & Hope — Torn Apart Again

Doc’s change of heart about the corporate hospital deeply wounds Hope. Hope visits her ex-husband Rowland to seek answers, eventually releasing her father’s ashes in a moment of quiet closure — while Doc spends the night at the clinic. The season leaves the show’s original central couple sleeping apart. [TV Fanatic](https://www.tvfanatic.com/watson-s02e12-review-family-meal/)
