Virat Kohli has gained a lot of attention after contradicting BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly refused to comment on this particular matter, he said that the board will deal with it. Team India have arrived at Johannesburg Test and ODI series against South Africa.

Virat in his pre-departure press conference ahead of tour of South Africa, he was never asked to say as a skipper for T20 and his intent was absolutely clear . He contradicted to Ganguly’s comment a few days back where Kohli has asked him to let him keep in the team.

BCCI has asked the chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma to look into the issue of media after Kohli’s press conference. The Board didn’t make any comments about the issue. Virat’s comments has brought an underlying tension with the administrators.

What Kapil Dev has to say about Virat- Sourav issue?

Kapil in his statement said “It is not good to point fingers on anybody at this point in time. The South Africa tour is coming and please pay attention to the tour, I would say Board president is Board president but yes the Indian cricket team captain is also a big thing. But talking badly about each other in public, I don’t think it is a good thing, whether it is Sourav or Kohli.”

Virat said “When I left the T20 captaincy, I had first approached BCCI and intimated them of my decision and laid down my point of view in front of them (office bearers). I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my viewpoint was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy’,”

Earlier Sourav Ganguly stated that the selectors didn’t desire to have two white-ball captains as it will be confusing for the other players.

Rohit has replaced Kohli as the white-ball captain.
