Real Madrid could have another Vinicius on their books soon, with Shakhtar Donetsk right back Vinicius Tobias close to joining the Spanish giants. A verbal agreement is in place between the club and his agent, according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The final details are being wrapped up between the two clubs right now before the transfer is made official through their official channels. The right-back will be joining the Castilla youth team, and will often train with the first team.
Vinicius Tobias to join Real Madrid soon
Much like Martin Odegaard or Reinier Jesus, Vinicius Tobias will be a project player signed for the long-term. He is only 18 years old, and is yet to make his professional debut. As a result, he shouldn’t be expected to make an impact on the first team level any time soon.
With FIFA allowing clubs to sign players from Ukraine due to the current situation, Madrid are expected to incorporate him immediately. They will be signing the youngster on a two-year loan deal with the option to make the move permanent for €18 million.
Vinicius Tobias came through Brazilian youth football at Sport Club International in Rio Grande and has been a key figure in the Brazilian youth national team set-up, most recently playing for the U17 team.
Atletico Madrid were also interested in him, but their cross-city rivals were the first to open talks and reach an agreement with him. And now, it is only a matter of time before the signing is confirmed.
