Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Vinicius Jr to extend his contract for the coming years. The 14-time Champions League winners wanted a long extension until June 2028, but they only agreed a four-year renewal until 2026 due to concerns over the salary.

The Brazilian has been waiting for a new deal for months, and now has his reward for an exceptional season. He is expected to be one of the best-paid players in the team as part of the new deal, which reflects his contribution to the results quite well.

Madrid consider Vinicius an untouchable member of their squad, and have included a €1 billion release clause in his contract. They are determined to build the team around him as one of the key members, and have been able to secure his presence for the coming years.

Vinicius Jr has always been very vocal about his love for Real Madrid. And there were very few chances of him leaving the club in the first place. But now, it is formally agreed that he will be a part of the team for the next four years.

The announcement will be made in July, once the players return for pre-season. He scored 22 goals and provided 20 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions and was one of the most important players in the team as Real Madrid won the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy too.
