Four games into the new La Liga season, Real Madrid are at the top of the table alongside rivals Atletico Madrid and Valencia. Los Blancos most recently won against Celta Vigo 5-2, with Karim Benzema netting a hat-trick as the Santiago Bernabeu reopened after construction.
But, while Benzema was undoubtedly the star of the game, Vinicius Jr’s contribution did not go unnoticed. The Brazilian was assisted by Karim Benzema, and scored the third goal of the game for Madrid.
Gareth Bale has picked up yet another injury, and will miss the Champions League clash against Inter Milan. As a result, Vinicius will possibly be trusted to start against the Serie A champions in midweek. However, regardless of whether or not he starts the game, he has surely improved over the last few games.
Under Ancelotti, Vinicius has scored 4 goals in 4 games. The winger scored the same number of goals in his last 46 appearances for the club. Ancelotti has managed to make the youngster more decisive, and he now looks like a much bigger threat to opposing defenders now.
The Italian manager had plans to include Gareth Bale as the main man on the wings this season, but Vinicius has inserted himself into the equation and now looks untouchable.
Eduardo Camavinga also made his debut for Real Madrid after the deadline day move from Rennes, and marked the occasion by scoring a goal 6 minutes after coming on for Eden Hazard. Madrid have scored 13 goals in their four La Liga games, and look like a fearsome offensive team again.
