Vincy Barretto is set to move from Kerala Blasters to Chennaiyin FC

The 22-year-old winger Vincy Barretto, who made his ISL debut last season, has reportedly moved from Kerala Blasters to Chennaiyin FC.

Chennaiyin FC are now focusing to add a new fresh leg to their forward line-up. While they had mostly dull periods in the last two ISL seasons by finishing at the eighth position in each competition, Marina Machans are hoping for a better time in the next ISL season.

One of the major issues of this Chennai-based team is the lack of presence of the goal scorers. Though they had better points than the bottom teams of the last two seasons, Chennaiyin FC still ended both those seasons as the least goal-scoring team. In fact, in three out of the last four ISL seasons, they finished as the least goal-scoring team.

Marina Machans are desperate to end their present unimpressive run in the opposition goal. So, they are hoping that Vincy Barretto can bring back their positive luck in the upcoming ISL season.

According to the recent update of Khel Now, a close source has informed them that Vincy Barretto would move from Kerala Blasters to Chennaiyin FC soon for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Who is Vincy Barretto? How can he help Chennaiyin FC?

Goa-born Vincy Barretto started his youth football career for Dempo SC. After serving for the FC Goa reserves in the I-League second division, Barretto made his I-League debut for Gokulam Kerala in the 2020/21 season.

After celebrating the I-League trophy with Gokulam Kerala, Barretto played his first ISL season in the last edition for the playoffs runners-up Kerala Blasters. In those 17 ISL games (including three playoffs appearances), the youngster scored two goals for his team.

Most recently, Barretto served for the Kerala Blasters reserves in the Reliance Foundation (RF) Development League 2022, where his three goals in seven matches helped his team to finish the tournament as the runners-up.

Though Barretto is useful in both wings, he has mostly been used in recent times as the right-winger or right midfielder. The talented winger has good speed, while he also impressed in his first ISL season with 72.22% accurate passing.

With more experience in his senior football career, Vincy Barretto can be a more effective player for his team. Chennaiyin FC are also hoping it from him.
