Turkey have named Vincenzo Montella as their new manager ahead of the 2024 Euros. The former Adana Demirspor manager has signed a deal until 2026, and will be in charge until the 2026 World Cup. He replaced Stefan Kuntz after he was removed from his position this week.
Kuntz won twelve of his 20 games in charge, drew three and lost five. And now, he will be replaced by the former Italy and Roma striker as the new manager of the national team.
Vincenzo Montella named new Turkey manager
During his time with Adana Demirspor, Montella won 38 of his 76 games in charge. And after managing in Europe’s top flight for twelve years, he will be making the step up to national football with the Euros coming up ahead.
Montella has managed clubs like Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan and Sevilla after making the transition into being a coach. He will be officially presented as the new manager of the national team on September 27.
Fans will have the chance to see Vincenzo Montella in the Turkey dugout for the first time against Croatia on Oct. 12 in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. They are currently second in their group and are expected to qualify for the Euros comfortably.
