Bhediyaa is a comedy-horror movie, directed by Amar Kaushik. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and Jio Studios. The movie was released in theatres on 25th November 2022.
Whereas, Vikram Vedha is a neo-noir action thriller. Actually, the movie Vikram Vedha is a remake of a Tamil film of the same name. Vikram Vedha is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks and Jio Studios, and a YNOT Studios Production. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and S. Sashikanth and Reliance Entertainment. Vikram Vedha was released globally on 30th September 2022.
Vikram Vedha and Bhediya OTT release delayed: Reasons revealed
All the newly released movies were released on the OTT platform 2 months after their release. The trend of releasing movies on OTT platforms either after their theatrical releases or directly on OTT platforms started mostly after the pandemic. This mainly started because of low box office collection during the pandemic.
The low box office collection has led to the release of movies on the OTT platform as the filmmaker has no other option in order to compensate for the incurred loss as much as possible. But recently, the trend seems to start to diminish as both Hrithik Roshan’s Vikram Vedha and Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya have still not been released on any OTT platform, even after their theatrical releases 19 and 11 weeks ago respectively.
As per the source, both films will rather stream on a new app by Reliance Jio. “The idea is to premiere not just Vikram Vedha and Bhediya but also several other films. As per the plan, every week, there’ll be a film premiere. While some of these are theatrical releases, a few of them will get a direct OTT release. The list of all these films will be hopefully unveiled at the time of the launch of the app.”
Both the movies Vikram Vedha and Bhediyaa have received good reviews from the critics as well as the audiences and have become super hit movies. The movies as collected a good amount from the box office collection.
