Tamil cinema’s biggest personal story just got a very public chapter. Thalapathy Vijay’s divorce from his wife of 27 years, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has become one of the most talked-about events on social media — and the drama just levelled up.

## **The Cryptic Post That Started It All**

Hours before Vijay and Trisha’s appearance at the wedding reception of AGS producer Kalpathi Suresh’s son, TVK chief’s bodyguard Aroon Suresh posted on his Instagram stories: “Time to rise above all the rumours 🔥” He deleted it quickly, but the internet never forgets.

Another post remained — a photo of Vijay making a heart sign, with the song Kokkarakko from their 2004 blockbuster Ghilli playing in the background. Fans immediately lost their minds.

## **The First Joint Appearance — Everything Matched**

| Detail | Vijay | Trisha |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Outfit | Off-white silk shirt + golden zari dhoti | Off-white Kanjeevaram saree, red border |
| Arrival | Together, same car | Same car |

The duo reportedly arrived together in the same car and were seen wearing coordinated outfits — a detail that did NOT go unnoticed.

## **The Divorce Drama Behind It**

Sangeetha’s divorce petition alleged that Vijay continued to travel abroad and attend public events with an actress, who regularly posted photographs of these outings on social media, causing Sangeetha emotional agony. While the petition didn’t name anyone, the internet connected the dots to Trisha.

Reports suggest Vijay wants to settle out of court, not wanting to damage his public image as a politician. An alimony figure of ₹250 crore has been widely cited, though nothing is confirmed.
