Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu features Silambarasan AKA Simbu in the lead role. We can also see him handling guns and other weapons. The trailer begins with an ominous voiceover, in Menon’s signature style: Sometimes, speaking the truth is much more difficult than narrating a story, the audience is warned, as the screen is cut to a young Silambarasan peeking out a moving train.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu documents the rise of Muthu, a naive simpleton, in a notorious world of crime. The trailer is led by Menon’s voiceover, documenting Muthu’s ascent into the Mumbai underworld. It also keeps switching between the different phases of Muthu’s life, introducing us to the various characters in Muthu’s universe including Radikaa Sarathkumar, Muthu’s mother, Siddhi Idnani, Muthu’s romantic interest, and Neeraj Madhav.
The action drama is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the production house, Vels Film International. One of the major highlights of the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu teaser is composer AR Rahman’s soulful music. It is written by Jeyamohan and lensed by Siddhartha Nuni. Looks like the film, which is subtitled Part 1: The Kindling, is part of a duology.
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu features Simbu, Kayadu Lohar, Radhika Sarathkumar, Siddique, and Neeraj Madhav in important roles. The film’s shooting took place in Tiruchendur and Mumbai as well. The film’s technical crew comprises cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni and editor Anthony.
