Van de Beek wants to wear Barcelona colours

The latest Wijnaldum scare has forced Barcelona to search for a midfielder that fits into the Barça team. Barça has been receiving several offers lately and one with the most promise is Donny van de Beek. The Manchester United midfielder has expressed that he would be delighted to be a part of Barcelona.

Van de Beek is reportedly seduced by the thought of wearing the Blaugrana colors. He would even accept it if the move was to be made through a loan. The Dutch midfielder is quite unhappy with his limited involvement at Manchester United and so is actively seeking a change in the scene.

Barcelona is on the other hand looking forward to strengthening the team in a defensive capacity. Donny has an attacking midfielder profile and so the move isn’t one that we should count on.

But then again Donny has been on Barça’s radar for quite a few years now. The club even tried to block Donny’s movements last summer in case they decided to go for him. Donny was in talks for a potential move to Real Madrid that never happened.

Currently, the club has sealed the services of Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, and Emerson Royal for the next season. The Catalans are also closely working on getting Memphis Depay to Camp Nou. While Pjanic and few other players have been asked to seek newer pastures, the Spanish side are still in hunt for a midfielder.
