Valve has already sent out the first wave of order emails for the Steam Deck Q2 reserves. The Steam Deck product page has also been updated by Valve to include more information about when your order will be handled.
Valve said on Twitter that they would be increasing Steam Deck shipments and sending out more order availability letters each week. Occasionally, even twice a week.”
Keep a watch out for the email from Valve if you have a Q2 Preorder for a Steam Deck. You’ll only have 72 hours to complete the deal. It’s also a good idea to check the mailing address and payment information twice.
Valve has completed all of its Q1 Steam Deck orders
It comes roughly two weeks after Valve stated that all of its Q1 preorders had been fulfilled. Valve said on Twitter that the Steam Deck product page had been amended to explain what the terms Q2, Q3, and After Q3 mean in terms of months. This should assist you in determining when your Steam Deck preorder will be processed.
If you were like me and preordered the Steam Deck as soon as it was announced, our “estimated order availability” will be in Q3 (July–September) 2022. It’s only Q3, but seeing months feels more natural. Anyone placing an order after this will have to wait until Q3, October 2022, or later. “No reservation windows were adjusted or postponed,” Valve noted, which is fantastic news.
