Valencia are close to agreeing contract extensions for Hugo Guillamon and Jose Gaya. The La Liga side have agreed a contract extension until 2026 with the defensive midfielder, valued at €25 million on Transfermarkt.

The renewal has been agreed upon by both parties, according to Fabrizio Romano. And it is only a matter of time before the 21-year-old’s extension is made official.

Valencia to extend Jose Gaya and Hugo Guillamon’s contracts soon

Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso had this to say about the extension of Jose Gaya:

Valencia have reached an agreement with Hugo Guillamón and his agents to extend the contract until 2026, it’s done. ⚪️🦇 #Valencia

“I’m not talking about it being 100% certain, but I think Gayà is happy. The club is making a very big effort for a big player. I think he is going to sign. We hope he does because if he doesn’t they will kill me.”

“The owner knows what happens here, I feel very comfortable with him. I am happy with Layhoon here, when there is a problem she is quick to find a solution. We have talked a little bit about the winter market. I think we are going to change nothing or little, probably nothing.”

Gaya has been a target for Barcelona in recent years. However, Valencia have been able to keep hold of one of their best players for the time being. And now, it remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement to get him to renew.
