Uunchai is all set to release on Zee5 in January 2023. The filmmaker Sooraj R Barjatya’s movie Uunchai was released in theatres on 11th November 2022. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra. Uunchai is produced by Barjatya’s family banner Rajshri Productions.
Uunchai had run successfully at the box office and now the director is very excited to present the movie to the viewers on an OTT platform. He has also shared that this movie is a labor of seven years of passion, hard work, and love.

On Friday i.e. 30th December 2022 the filmmaker Barjatya and the OTT platform ZEE5 made the announcement regarding the OTT release date of the movie Uunchai. It is going to release on 6th January 2023 on ZEE5.
The director has said in a statement, “I appeal to all our fans to start the new year with this film which is a heartfelt ode to friendship. Uunchai is sure to make the viewers chuckle and cry in equal parts and tug at their heartstrings as it will take the viewers through a rollercoaster of emotions”.
About
Uunchai is a movie that shows us the journey of three aged friends (Bachchan, Kher, and Irani), who decide to embark on a trek to the Everest base camp to fulfill the wish of their late friend Bhupen (Denzongpa). In the movie we will then see, How their trek turns out to be a personal, emotional, and spiritual experience as they battle their physical limitations and discover freedom.
The Chief Business Officer of Zee5 India, Manish Kalra has said that they are very much excited to start the new year by entering it with the premiere of Uunchai which has turned out to be one of the best family entertainers of 2022.
Kalra has said, “A film by Sooraj Barjatya with a never-seen-before ensemble on-screen is a must-watch for people across ages but especially the elderly as it drives home the message of living life to the fullest and what better reminder than the start of a new year to dream big and live big”.
