The film’s story is rooted in something genuinely compelling. The plot follows a tribal boy who grows up inspired by his teacher, who names him Bhagat Singh and shapes his values. Rooted in strong morals and unwavering courage, the protagonist takes on evil forces despite overwhelming odds. That’s the kind of hero’s arc that Telugu audiences have always connected with deeply — and pairing it with Harish Shankar’s proven masala touch makes it even more exciting.

## The Road to March 19

The film was originally scheduled for a March 26 release but was advanced after Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups postponed its premiere. The timing now puts Ustaad Bhagat Singh right on Ugadi — one of the biggest Telugu film release slots of the year — giving it a powerful festive launchpad.

There’s also a notable behind-the-scenes story: while songs were originally composed by Devi Sri Prasad, due to time constraints and prior commitments, the makers roped in Thaman S for the background score. Both composers are powerhouses in South Indian cinema, and this collaboration-by-necessity could still deliver something memorable.

Pawan Kalyan’s last lead role was in the gangster actioner They Call Him OG, directed by Sujeeth.
