Many manufacturers such as Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Toyota introduce new models to increase their market share, and the compact SUV industry will be very active this year. The five brand-new small SUVs that will go on sale in 2023 are listed here.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Along with the Jimny, the Fronx made its premiere at the 2023 Auto Expo last month. It will go on sale in April. For the Baleno-based coupe SUV, which is built on the well-known Heartect platform, reservations have already been taken. It has 1.2-liter and 1.0-liter petrol engines with manual and automatic transmission options that provide the vehicle’s power. The Grand Vitara served as an influence for its design, and it has a feature-rich interior.
Toyota Coupe SUV
The compact coupe SUV from Toyota, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, is anticipated to go on sale in the latter part of this year. The 5-seater will have cosmetic alterations to set itself apart from its donor, but the powertrain features and options will be the same. It will take the place of the now-retired Urban Cruiser.
Tata Punch CNG
The Punch CNG, which will be on sale in showrooms in H2 2023, is anticipated to have a significant impact on the CNG market thanks to India’s first twin-cylinder technology that helps retain the boot space. A 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine will be included.
Maruti Suzuki Jimmy
The Maruti Suzuki Jimmy, a sub-four-meter SUV, would be positioned above the Fronx since it will compete with lifestyle off-road SUVs like the future five-door Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. The 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine will be mated to either a five-speed manual transmission (MT) or a four-speed automatic transmission (AT), providing power to all 4 wheels. It will have larger dimensions than the three-door worldwide Jimny. It will debut around May 2023.
Hyundai Micro SUV
Later this year, Hyundai is supposedly introducing a brand-new micro SUV. The five-seater, code-named Ai3, will be based on the Casper in terms of design and sit on a slightly altered version of the Grand i10 Nios platform. A 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission will be connected to a 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine to provide the vehicle’s power.
