As 2024 unfolds, the industry maintains this momentum with an array of exciting launches and facelifts in both the electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) segments. Upcoming Car Launches in 2024
Maruti Suzuki Swift (Next Generation)
Maruti Suzuki, the manufacturer, in India, is gearing up to introduce the iteration of its highly popular model, the Swift is among the best upcoming car launches in 2024. The updated version of this hatchback features refreshed interiors and a new powertrain. The front design showcases grille-enhanced headlamps with LED daytime running light signatures and a redesigned bumper.
On the sides, you’ll find 16-inch alloy wheels and door-mounted handles while the rear boasts C-shaped LED tail lamps and a reprofiled bumper. Under the hood, the new Swift is equipped with a 1.2 liter three-cylinder engine that is expected to deliver around 90 horsepower and 113 Newton meters of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed gearbox as well as an AMT automatic transmission. There are also plans for a hybrid variant upon launch.
Maruti Suzuki eVX (Electric Vehicle)
Maruti Suzuki’s venture into vehicles is also on the horizon with their release called eVX planned for launch in 2024. This electric vehicle will maintain design elements from its concept car including headlamp assembly LED daytime running light patterns and an overall rugged aesthetic. Powered by a 60 kWh battery pack offering an estimated range of around 550 kilometers the eVX will operate on Maruti Suzukis born EV platform. In addition, to this development, Toyota is expected to unveil its version known as the Urban SUV concept shortly after the Maruti Suzukis eVX debut.
Toyota Taisor
Toyota is getting ready to introduce the Taisor which is essentially a rebranded version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Taisor will stand out among the upcoming car launches in 2024 with some modifications, to its exterior including adjustments to the grille, new DRL signatures subtle tweaks to the tail lamps, and possibly some alloy wheel variations. Inside the Taisor will closely resemble the Fronx. Keep features such, as a 9-inch screen, a head-up display, and a wireless phone charger. Powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1-liter turbocharged petrol engine, will remain unchanged.
Hyundai Kona Electric (Next Generation)
The next-generation Kona Electric showcased in 2022, features a redesigned exterior with a pixelated LED DRL, a larger air dam, and a distinctive rear design. Two powertrain options include the Standard Range with a 48.4 kWh battery and a Long Range variant with a 65.4 kWh battery. The former produces 155 hp, while the latter generates 218 hp. Both variants offer improved aesthetics and maintain Kona Electric’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
Tata Curvv (SUV)
Tata is poised to launch the Curvv SUV, characterized by a coupe-SUV styling that adds a sportier touch to its rugged appeal. Powertrain options may include a new 1.5-liter diesel engine, and the electric variant could feature a single-motor, front-wheel-drive option and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant with an expected range of 400-500 km. The Curvv may also integrate ADAS technology in its top-tier variants or electric versions.
Tata Harrier EV
Building on the success of the recently facelifted Harrier and Safari, Tata is gearing up to launch the Harrier EV. The electric variant, built on Tata’s Gen 2 architecture, showcases a distinctive design with a horizontal slat grille, split LED headlamps, and advanced features like ADAS technology and a 360-degree camera. Unlike its ICE counterpart, the Harrier EV will offer all-wheel-drive capabilities.
