AMD is all set to launch its Ryzen 5000H processors based on its revolutionary Zen 3 architecture next month at CES 2021. We expect a bunch of OEMs inclining to AMD more this time as their overall performance seems much better than what Intel has to offer.
Before that we have spotted a number of laptops powered by these new AMD processors, mostly by ASUS and now we have Acer’s much loved Nitro 5 laptop as well. This is a 17.3-inch gaming laptop (AN517-41-R9S5 Nitro 5) listed by a German retailer with a pricing of 1950 EUR. For performance, the gaming laptop features the unannounced AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor based on Zen 3 architecture.
It has got tremendous horsepower with 8 cores and 16 threads, coupled with 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 memory, 1TB of SSD drive, and a beefy NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 8GB graphics. Well, this might be the first gaming laptop powered by AMD that supports and NVIDIA flagship GPU.
This could indeed be the upcoming flagship Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop but the budget variant of the laptop has also been spotted:
It comes with the same AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, which is confirmed to come with 3.2GHz base clock speed along with 16MB L3 cache, paired with 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM. This variant features 512GB M.2 SSD along with 4GB GDDR6 GeForce GTX 1650 graphics, also much like last-gen Acer seems to equip the same FHD display with 144Hz refresh rate.
We will not have to wait much longer because these new AMD Ryzen 5000H will be launched next month and we will see new laptops as well paired with upcoming RTX 30-series mobile GPUs.
