  1. Record-Breaking Speed: Ravichandran Ashwin is the fastest Indian bowler to reach 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 and 450 test wickets milestone. In his 37th Test match, he became the second-fastest in the world to reach 200 Test wickets, after Australian spinner Clarrie Grimmett (36 matches). Ashwin is also the fastest to reach 250, 300, and 350 wickets in Test cricket.
  2. A Versatile All-Rounder: Ravichandran Ashwin is ranked number 2 among bowlers and number 2 among all-rounders in Test cricket as of December 2021. He became the first Indian cricketer to score a century and take five wickets in the same Test match on three separate instances.
  3. Man of the Series Awards: On 23 August 2016, Ashwin grabbed his sixth Man-of-the-Series Award, surpassing the tie by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, in only his 13th Test series, and 8th series where he played every Test.Ashwin is one of India’s most consistent performers in the Test format.

In November 2017, he reached the 300-wicket milestone in just his 54th Test, breaking the previous record held by Dennis Lillee.

  6. T20I Wickets: In 2016, Ashwin became the first Indian to take 50 T20I wickets, and he remains one of India’s leading T20 bowlers to this day.
  7. Double of 500 Runs and 50 Wickets: In 2016, Ashwin completed a double of 500 runs and 50 wickets in a single calendar year, a feat only previously achieved by legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.
  8. World’s Leading Wicket Taker: In 2016, Ravichandran Ashwin was the world’s leading wicket-taker, with 72 scalps to his name.
  9. Highest Wicket Taker in Home Season : During India’s 2016-17 home season, Ashwin took 64 wickets in 13 Tests, becoming the highest wicket-taker for India in a single domestic season.
  10. Most Wickets by a Bowler in a Home Season: In March 2017, Ashwin took his wickets’ tally to 79, the most number of wickets by a bowler in a home season.
  11. Fastest Indian to 150 Wickets: In November 2015, Ashwin became the fastest Indian to 150 wickets.
  12. Fastest Bowler to Reach 300 Test Wickets: In November 2017, Ashwin became the fastest bowler to reach 300 Test wickets in just his 54th Test.
  13. Nominated for Sir Garfield Sobers Award: In November 2020, Ashwin was nominated for the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade, further highlighting his incredible achievements and impact on the game

  17. Highest Wickets in World Test Championship: Ashwin took the highest wickets (71) in the inaugural World Test Championship and was named in the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year for the year 2021.   20. Second highest wicket taker in the history of Indian cricket : His latest achievement of reaching 450 wickets in Test matches puts him in second place among India’s all-time wicket-takers. The 36-year-old picked up the wicket of Australian wicket-keeper batter Alexy Carey to reach this milestone during the first Test between India and Australia and is now only behind legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble.
