UEFA could kick out Juventus from European competition for their alleged falsification of capital gains earned from transfer dealings. Fifteen penalization points were imposed on the Italian giants in January after being proven guilty of false accounting.
UEFA could kick out Juventus due to falsification of capital gains
The move by the UEFA was reversed after last week’s appeal while Italy’s highest sporting court re-examines the scenario, with possibilities of punishment at a later stage.
That reversal upgraded Juventus fr seventh to third position in the Serie A point table, keeping them in the race for Champions League qualification, but there might be an issue.
They might bag the Europa League before the semifinal face-off against Sevilla- this, too, could earn them a place in the Champions League.
Reports suggest the European Football governing body will carry out their individual investigation to analyze the club’s financial practices.
They have got documents from the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office and are scrutinizing the evidence, all set to intervene if a legal decision isn’t finalized by June end.
The reason is UEFA must finalize the entry lists for the upcoming season’s Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Italian clubs will probably enter the play-offs for the Europa Conference League in late August. That’s why a decision regarding which representatives are placed into which competition needs to be made before that.
In case the Italian court decides Juventus must be sanctioned, someone else must replace them in the next season.
What if they don’t qualify for Europe altogether?
In case they fail to qualify for Europe altogether with a strong number of competitors around them, a seeming omission from continental competition could be suspended until the 2024-25 season.
Stay tuned to find out what the club’s future has on hold!
