All sporting activities came to a standstill since March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The domestic leagues resumed from May. Bayern Munich won their 8th successive Bundesliga trophy while Juventus lifted their 9th consecutive Serie A trophy. On the other hand, Real Madrid won the LaLiga and Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy after 30 years. Ligue 1 is the only exception among top-five European leagues who didn’t resume their league and declared PSG as the winner by a points-per-game method.
And now, it’s finally time for the UEFA Champions League. UEFA had officially declared that the Champions League last 16 second-leg will resume on 7th August with the final being held on 23rd August. They will host a ‘Final Eight’ tournament in Lisbon, Portugal from 12th August.
All the remaining Champions League last 16 second-legs have now finished with Manchester City, Lyon, Barcelona and Bayern Munich progressing to the quarter-finals. They will now join Paris Saint-Germain, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig who had already qualified for the quarter-finals.
The ‘Final Eight’ tournament will start from 12 August. All the matches will be a single-legged affair.
It's QUARTER-FINALS WEEK! 😍😍😍
