UEFA Champions League 2021-22 group stage draw: Everything you need to know about the event on 26th August

The UEFA Champions League 2021-22 season is just around the corner. The group stage draw for the new season of the UCL will be made on 26th August as we will kickstart the UCL 2021-22 season on 14th September.

When will the UCL 2021-22 group stage draw take place?

The UCL 2021-22 group stage draw will take place on Thursday 26th August at 9:30 pm IST.

The UCL 2021-22 group stage draw will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.

How can you watch the UCL 2021-22 group stage draw?

The UCL 2021-22 group stage draw will be live-streamed on UEFA’s official website.

Teams involved in UCL 2021-22 group stage draw

Spain: Atlético, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Villarreal

England: Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea

Germany: Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund, Wolfsburg

Italy: Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atalanta, Juventus

France: LOSC, PSG

Portugal: Sporting CP, Porto

Russia: Zenit

Belgium: Club Brugge

Ukraine: Dynamo Kyiv

Netherlands: Ajax

Turkey: BeÅŸiktaÅŸ

As of now, only 26 teams have qualified for the competition this season. The last six group stage berths will be decided via the play-offs which will take place before the draw.

How does the UCL group stage draw work?

There will be four seeding pots with eight teams each in the Champions League group stage draw.

Pot 1 will consist of last season’s Champions League winners, the UEFA Europa League winners and the champions of the six highest-ranked nations who did not qualify via one of the 2020/21 continental titles.

Pots 2, 3 and 4 will depend on club coefficient rankings. No club can play clubs from their own country in the group stage.

When will the UCL 2021-22 group stage begin?

Matchday 1: 14-15 September

Matchday 2: 28-29 September

Matchday 3: 19-20 October

Matchday 4: 2-3 November

Matchday 5: 23-24 November

Matchday 6: 7-8 December

When and where will the UCL 2021-22 final take place?

The UEFA Champions League 2021-22 final will be held on Saturday, 28th May, 2022 at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Russia.
