UEFA ban Russia from competing at major tournaments this summer

The women’s team will not be allowed to play their qualifying games for the 2023 World Cup either. The results that have already been played out will be declared null and void, and their qualifying group will now consist of only five teams.

The youth teams have also been banned from participating in any UEFA competitions, alongside the Futsal teams.

Russian clubs have also been ruled out from participating in club competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, Women’s Champions League and Youth League.

The armed invasion of Ukraine carried out by the Russian government has resulted in the boycott of the country on several fronts. They have already been kicked from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar owing to the hostility.

And now, their footballing prospects for next season are being affected too.
