U.S. Soccer and Mexico have officially launched a bid to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The Federation confirmed the news on Thursday and declared on the final day; teams need to formally recognize their interest in hosting the tournament.

Talking about the same, U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlown Cone said,
“The United States has always been a global leader for the women’s game, and we would be honored to co-host the world’s premier event for women’s soccer along with Mexico.
Hosting the 2027 Women’s World Cup provides us an incredible opportunity to cap off two historic years of World Cup soccer in the Concacaf region, helping us to continue growing the game among our confederation associations.”
She continued,
“A record six teams from Concacaf will play in the Women’s World Cup this summer, and the United States and Mexico want to continue to push the envelope for the development of women’s soccer across the entire region.”
Full bids due by 8th December
The official announcement of the host will be on 19th May 2023, and full hosts are due by December 8. The US has already hosted the women’s tournament twice, in 1999 and 2003.
Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, and Brazil are some of the other countries to be in the run to host the tournament.
It’ll be interesting to watch who the official hosts are for the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The bids are open till December, and the final decision is to be made in May.
