TVS Motor, one of the leading players in the two- and three-wheeler market in India is now venturing into ‘Adventure’ (ADV) bikes. Though the company has never before launched a proper ADV, this model is likely to share its underpinnings with the TVS-BMW 310 platform. Recent reports suggest that the bike is close to the end of its development cycle and could be on sale as soon as 2025.

TVS Apache RTX 310 ADV: First Look at TVS’s Upcoming Adventure Bike
Commenting on the motorcycle range, TVS already has a wide variety of premium motorcycles offered under the Apache and Ronin titles. Even recently, the company announced a scrambler version of its Ronin called the Ronin SCR, and that has led to speculation about its possible entry as well. Other popular ADV models including the Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure have already established strong footing in India, and TVS seems to be ready for the fight with a new vehicle in this segment.
The TVS ADV will also be made on the 310cc platform and some reports say that it is already in its final road test phase. Spy shots show the bike in adventure-tourer clothing, including a semi-fairing with a tall windscreen for rider protection. The bike is expected to be placed under the Apache brand and the name ‘Apache RTX’ has already been registered. TVS previously used this strategy of nomenclature, where “RR” meant supersport and “RTR” was streetfighter-oriented respectively.
In terms of specifications, the ADV could feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, fully adjustable suspension, and dual-channel ABS. The bike is likely to be packed with advanced electronics, including cruise control, cornering control, traction control, and various ABS modes. A TFT display with features like music control and navigation may also be included. The powertrain will likely be a 310cc reverse inclined single-cylinder engine, producing around 37.5 bhp and 29 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, and bi-directional quick-shifter.
