tvOS 26 Unveiled: Liquid Glass, Karaoke Upgrades, and More

Apple has officially introduced tvOS 26 at WWDC 2025, bringing a striking visual refresh and powerful new features designed to make Apple TV more immersive, social, and user-friendly. The interface now showcases cinematic poster art enhanced with Liquid Glass effects. It also surfaces more shows and movies at once, so it’s easier to have a new thing to watch. Profile-switching has gotten better, with Apple TV automatically switching to your personal profile upon waking. It means your Watchlist and Apple Music playlists are all teed up before you ever sit down.

Apple Music Sing in tvOS 26 is set to take sing-along sessions to a new level. Now, they can make their iPhones into wireless microphones. Their voices are heightened, and the lyrics explode on the big screen with various effects. Several iPhones can join in on the fun, with friends queuing up tracks or sending emoji reactions on screen. New Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation tools also help users sing along to global hits, even in unfamiliar languages.

FaceTime gets smarter, too. Contact Posters now appear during calls, creating a consistent look across Apple devices. Live Captions now support six new languages: French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish. Users will also see audio and call notifications for the active profile, and can answer calls using a HomePod or iPhone. Aerial screen savers now include stunning new imagery from India, with views of Goa and Kerala.

Users can customise which screen saver categories are shown or hidden. Additionally, Apple TV now allows users to set any AirPlay-compatible speaker as a permanent audio output, giving more flexibility in configuring home entertainment setups.
