TSMC moves forward with its production plans for 2nm process nodes

We all know that TSMC is the world’s largest producer of silicon and is currently at the forefront in solving the ongoing crises of the semiconductor shortage haunting the tech world.

But what has kept TSMC as the global leader in its advancement in silicon manufacturing technologies. The global leader not only managed to keep itself ahead in the silicon race, but it also managed to keep big clients such as Apple loyal to its brand.

As reports show, TSMC is currently investing heavily in developing its 2nm manufacturing process. The latest report suggests that the Taiwanese chip industry has successfully acquired permission for a facility that will mass-produce its 2nm chips. The company expects that the Cupertino giant will be using this latest technology to mass-produce its next-generation A-series processors for iPhones arriving in 2024.

according to sources, TSMC will start its test production of the 2nm process in 2023, as the Taiwanese government has approved plans for the upcoming node. If all goes well, then Apple might just start using the tech for its iPhones in 2024. we could see iPhone 16, most probably, having a chip powered made using the advanced manufacturing process of TSMC.

Previous reports also stated that both TSMC and Apple were together working on 2nm R&D. Another report claimed that TSMC has already received orders for its advanced 2nm process node, even though the name of the customer was not mentioned many believe it to be Apple. The Cupertino giant was also the first one to previously secure orders for TSMC’s 3nm process node.
