Triumph has released pictures of its latest and most sleek electric bike, the TE-1. This is the prototype version and packs up to 180hp. The new electric bike aims to target the premium customers of the two-wheeler market.
The aggressive expansion policy prevailing in the two-wheeler market has led established brands like Harley-Davidson to branch into the production of electric versions of their power bikes.
The Triumph TE-1 will be the UK-based company’s first foray into the electric motorcycle market and the company is looking to enter into the market with it. The motorbike was officially announced in 2019 and now the model has cleared its third project phase which means that a working prototype is already out there.
The prototype images of the TE-1 that Triumph shared showed a gorgeous electric motorcycle that appears to offer beastly performance. These images were accompanied by a short teaser on YouTube of the TE-1.
The e-bike has been rumored to have a 180hp powertrain and this could come pricey as well. The next level of the test includes road and track testing of the TE-1, after which the final setup and calibration of the e-bike will be finished.
For now, Triumph has not provided a timeline for the evolution of the TE-1 to a full commercial product for the market.
