Trevoh Chalobah set to leave Chelsea in January over lack of playing time

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window, after failing to impress Mauricio Pochettino ahead of his current options. The Blues have a wealth of players who can play in central defence, with Levi Colwill, Thiago Silva and Axel Disasi currently fit for selection.

Although injured as of now, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana are also available and will be back in the first team fold later on. Chalobah has not played a single minute since preseason for Chelsea this season, and is expected to leave when the window for business opens up again.

Trevoh Chalobah to leave Chelsea in January after failed Bayern move

Bayern Munich were close to signing the defender this summer, but the move fell through even though they reached an agreement with Chelsea. The same was the case with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, with the Portuguese midfielder even completing a photoshoot in Bayern’s kit before the transfer collapsed.

The main reason behind the player seeking a transfer away is the lack of regular playing time. With the constant injury crisis at Bayern Munich, Trevoh Chalobah will have ample game time under former manager Thomas Tuchel.

But, Bayern are not the only club interested in signing the defender. Nottingham Forest are also keeping an eye on the situation and could swoop in to complete a deal if Bayern do not make the first move in January.
