Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of Liverpool’s most important players. Since breaking into the first team under Jurgen Klopp as a Liverpool academy graduate, the England international has enjoyed a meteoric rise in status.

Despite being only 23-years-old, Alexander-Arnold is widely held as the world’s best right-back. He has already equalled John Arne Riise who had 21 goals and 24 assists in total, for the record for the most goal involvements from defense for Liverpool.

The young right-back managed to provide one assist and score an outstanding free-kick in their most recent game against West Ham United. He has scored nine goals and provided 36 assists during his time with the first team in the Premier League, taking his total goal involvements to 45.

The Merseyside Reds lost to the Hammers at the London Stadium, which ended their 25-game unbeaten run in all competitions. They are now fourth in the Premier League table, and have been surpassed by West Ham United, who lead by one point.

After the game, Jurgen Klopp said that the player picked up a knock despite his great performance in the fixture. “Trent is limping because in the first half he takes the ball on the volley and gets a proper knock on his foot, but it’s not even a free-kick.

“We had these situations and that’s one story of the game. The other story is that we weren’t completely in charge of the game, and maybe weren’t ruthless enough.”

He is still expected to join the England squad for the international break, which will be encouraging news for Klopp. And with a number of years left for him to reach his prime years, he can easily be the greatest right-back ever in England.
