On Friday, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young reached a personal milestone when he scored his career’s 400th three-pointer. He became the fastest player in the history of the league to do in only 159 games.

The moment came in a game against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena. The Hawks won with a score of 116-100. He scored a whopping 41 points, five assists and three rebounds in the game along with 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 5-for-9 beyond the arc. Adding to his game, he tied his season-high in free throw attempts with 17 while knocking down 16 of them.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, the 22-year-old now holds the record for the least number of games to reach 400 threes in NBA history, dating back to the beginning of the three-pointer era in the 1979-80 season.

In the last five games, Young is averaging 37.6 points and 7.6 assists. In turn, the Hawks have gone 4-1 and climbed to a 10-9 record placing them at the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference. On the season, he is averaging 27 points and 8.6 assists per night, figures that put him on track to make his second straight All-Star appearance in his third season.

ESPN Stats & Info also reported that Young had the 14th 40-point game of his career. Since the NBA-ABA merger (1976-77), only Michael Jordan (44), Shaquille O’Neal (19) and LeBron James (16) had more in their first three seasons in the league.

Young’s impressive court vision and deep range on his jumper have garnered comparisons to Stephen Curry. The Warriors megastar recently passed Reggie Miller to take the second spot on the all-time made three-pointers list.
